Slow Cooker Bone Broth

  • 3-5 lbs beef bones
  • 1 large onion quartered
  • 2 large carrots cut into 2-3" pieces
  • 1 green bell pepper quartered
  • 1 red bell pepper quartered
  • 3 stalks cellery cut into 2-3" pieces
  • 6 cloves garlic
  • 2 bay leaves
  • 1 tbs apple cider vinegar


  • Place all ingredients into large slow cooker pot.
  • Fill with water to just cover all ingredients.
  • Cover pot with lid and turn slow cooker to high.
  • Once it starts to boil, turn to low and leave for 7 hours+
  • Cook for at least a total of 8 hours, but the longer you cook it, the better! Cook up to 24 hours.
  • Let cool and strain liquid into another pot. Discard all bones and vegetables, but keep any of the meat if you choose to.
  • Pour broth into containers and place into refrigerator. When you go use a container of broth, scrap and solidified fat from the top.
  • Add salt, pepper or any other spices to flavor. Enjoy!
