Hair, Skin & Nails is a comprehensive formula that combines a wide array of vitamins, minerals, amino acids, and botanicals in order to provide building blocks necessary for healthy hair, skin, and nails, all being protective components of the body.

Hair, Skin & Nails helps support keratin and collagen Keratin is a fibrous protein found in hair, skin, and nails that is rich in sulfur-containing amino acids, especially cysteine. Keratin is a filament-forming protein, whose molecules are entwined around each other in long filaments that are cross-linked by bonds between the sulfur atoms. This twining and cross-linking is dependent on various nutrients and gives the keratin structures their strength.

Collagen is another fibrous protein and a primary constituent of the body’s connective tissue. It is the main component of hair, skin, and nails and is vital for their health, such as in supporting skin elasticity. Many of the nutrients found in Hair, Skin & Nails help to support collagen, such as MSM and N-acetyl-cysteine (both provide sulfur) and bamboo (provides silica). Sulfur and silica are necessary for the formation of collagen. Other collagen-supportive nutrients include vitamin C, B vitamins, copper, the amino acids glycine and proline, and manganese (necessary to activate the enzyme prolidase, which provides the amino acid proline).

Additional Highlights The olive fruit extract is standardized to contain 10% hydroxytyrosol, one of the olive fruit’s most important polyphenols. Hydroxytyrosol’s strong antioxidant abilities appear to help support skin health by protecting keratinocytes against the damaging effect of UV-derived oxidative stress.

Hair, Skin & Nails also features green tea extract (decaffeinated), grape seed extract standardized to contain 95% proanthocyanidins, along with generous amounts of the fat-soluble vitamins A and D.  The minerals contained in this product are Albion® chelated minerals for superior absorption.
